Getting Strong Recommendation Letters

Ask early, at least four to six weeks before the first deadline. Choose people who know your research or coursework well over people with bigger titles who barely know you.

Send each recommender a one-page brief: the programs, the deadlines, your CV, and three specific things you did with them that they could mention.
